About NOTO Memberships

NOTO membership are renewed annually on a voluntarily basis and run from June to June. Early Bird Pricing for memberships runs from January 1st to March 31st of every year. Depending on the membership type/level, members gain access not only to our advocacy and information services, but they also gain access to our money-saving benefits.

NOTO’s Advocacy Priorities For 2023

Key priorities are listed under three themes, revenue generation, engagement with government, regulatory modernization.

Revenue Generation Priorities:

• Financial relief from 2023 crown resource fees (Immediate priority)

• Extend Ontario Staycation Tax Credit for 2023 (Immediate priority)

• Streamlining of Ontario Gasoline Tax Refund program (Immediate priority)

• Extension of payback deadlines and larger granted portion for Federal loan programs (Immediate priority)

Engaging Government:

• Seek regular forum with MNRF senior management (Immediate and now ongoing)

• Seek clarity on status of key MNRF policy files including; boat cache program review, land use permit standardization and Ontario’s Tourism and Forestry Memorandum of Understanding (Ongoing Priority)

• Ensure that government understands and protects RBT interests (occupational authority, permissions, rents) in provincial parks and conservation reserves (Ongoing Priority)

• Administration of moose, deer and bear tag allocation systems and opportunities for alternative allocations and seasons (Ongoing Priority)

Regulatory Modernization:

• Monitor and address any proposed revisions to Environmental Assessment Act provisions potentially affecting RBT industry (Monitor and Longer-Term Priority)

• Advocate for improvements to requirements to inspect renewal of existing commercial septic waste systems (Monitor and Longer-Term Priority)
