Premier Wynne Shuffles Her Cabinet Impacting Two of our Key Ministries
On January 15th, 2018, Premier Wynne announced a shuffle of cabinet ministers that would see changes in both the Ministry of Natural Resource and Forestry and the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport as well as a number of other Ministries.
The new Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) is Nathalie Des Rosiers from Ottawa-Vanier.  This will be Des Rosier’s first Cabinet position.  She previously served as the parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Housing and prior to that the parliamentary assistant to the Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues.

Daiene Vernile, of Kitchener, will serve now as Minister of Tourism, Culture & Sport (MTCS). This is Vernile’s first cabinet position as well. She is a former CTV broadcast journalist who has served as parliamentary assistant for two different Ministers since 2016.  Those Ministers include the Minister of Research and Innovation as well as the Minister of Transportation.

Former MNRF Minister McGarry will move on to be Minister of Transportation and former MTCS Minister will move on to become President of the Treasury Board Responsible for Digital Government.
