It is time for NOTO Board elections! If you are a regular NOTO member, you would have received your electronic ballot to vote from Kate on October 20th, 2023. Electronic voting will close on November 10th, 2023. Members may also choose to vote in-person at the Annual General Meeting taking place at the Quattro Hotel & Conference Center in Sault Ste. Marie, ON at 11am on November 14th.
The following number of seats are available in each of our four electoral regions this year:
- Northwest: 1
- North Central: 1
- Northeast: 2
- South: 2
The NOTO By-Laws permit members to run for the election in each region from the floor of the Annual General Meeting. In order to run off the floor, you must have paid your 2023 NOTO membership, and must receive the support of two other operators at the AGM. If you anticipate running off the floor at the NOTO AGM, please let me know as soon as possible so that we can prepare accordingly.
In the event that a member runs from the floor, votes will be cast in-person only and will be counted during the election process at the AGM.
We do have a few regions with more vacancies than nominations for this year’s election. We encourage you to consider putting your name forward to run for the NOTO Board of Directors at the AGM. In general, NOTO Board members meet by conference call once a month for approximately 2 hours with the exception of the operating season where calls are held less frequently.
