Mining Act Regulations – NOTO Addresses Tourism Industry Concerns

NOTO sits on the Minister’s Mining Act Advisory Committee and have been an active part of discussions around the new regulations under the act. Our industry has had concerns about some questionable practices on the part of exploration companies that have threatened tourism values. Although we have raised these issues at the committee, they have not been adequately addressed in the draft regulations.
Those draft regulations are now posted on the Environmental Registry for comment. We have attached our comments for your reference.
