CBSA would like to advise U.S. camp owners offering hunting experiences of a new requirement. Due to various situations occurring across the country with regard to illegitimate hunting service providers, new policies have been implemented, and CBSA will now require proof that operators have necessary permissions and allocations to offer their hunting experiences. To meet this requirement, NOTO recommends you provide the following notices you receive from Ministry of Natural Resources:
- Allocation letter from MNR for moose
- Paperwork for your Bear Management Area for bear
CBSA & NOTO understand that this additional requirement may be frustrating for some operators; however, it is an important step in maintaining the credibility and integrity of the resource-based tourism industry. Providing proper documentation helps demonstrate that hunting services are being offered legitimately and in compliance with regulations, which supports the long-term sustainability and reputation of Northern Ontario’s tourism sector.
