Hello NOTO Members,
As we approach the end of the organization’s fiscal year, NOTO staff have been working hard to continue advocacy efforts on a variety of issues, and building reports to wrap up another successful year for the Tourism SkillsNet North and Experience Fishing programs.
We know many of you are eagerly awaiting to hear if there will be a fourth round of the Tourism SkillsNet North program, and rest assured we are too! Destination Northern Ontario is hoping to receive an answer by the end of March and we will provide an update to the industry as soon as we know. While we wait, we continue to help operators find staff through our job boards. To take advantage of this, please contact ashley@noto.net.
As for the Experience Fishing program, we look forward to shifting our focus towards consumer marketing and building stronger relationships with the destination marketing organizations, tourism partners and municipalities to help build the next generation of anglers, while showcasing everything Northern Ontario has to offer to new markets.
NOTO staff will be attending the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show from March 14th to 17th. Stop by the Experience Fishing booth or catch Laurie doing her walkabouts for a chat. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
