New Job Posting Requirements

As you prepare to hire for the season, this is a friendly reminder that employers must now do the following when posting jobs (as per the Employment Standard Act changes):

  • Pay Transparency: List expected pay or a salary range
  • AI Disclosure: State if they are using AI to screen applicants
  • Mandatory Follow-Ups: Notify interviewed candidates of decisions within 45 days
  • No Canadian Experience Requirements: You can not ask for Canadian work experience
  • Vacancy Clarity: You must specify if the position is for a new or existing role
  • Record Keeping: Keep job postings and related records for 3 years
