2025-2026 Moose Outfitter Survey

As we continue discussions with MNR, we want to make sure the data we present to them is clear, concise & represents the most up-to-date state of the industry. As one of the highest yield outdoor products, moose hunts are extremely valuable to the Resource-Based Tourism sector and the northern economy. We want to ensure that the regulations surrounding the tourism allocations are flexible and make sense for the realities of the tourism sector.

If you are a moose outfitter that has shares but has not had tags in a number of years, we need your input as well.

Our goals for this survey are the following:

• Create a clear picture of the types of moose hunts that are available across the North (drive-in, fly-in, just accommodations, full service, guided vs unguided, etc.)
• Understand the value ($CAD) of various moose hunt experiences that are available across the North
• Know the value of the different types of hunts (bull vs cow, calf) and the ease (or difficulty) operators have with selling them.
• Understand the economic impact in terms of revenue for the operator & employment numbers as it relates to moose hunts.
