Yesterday, (December 17, 2015) the NOTO office received correspondence from the MNRF that they have posted 3 new proposals as part of the Moose Project Phase II that they feel will help to make a positive impact on the moose populations in Ontario. The public comment period will end January 18, 2016.

On behalf of the NOTO Board of Directors and membership we would like to express our support for the proposal to extend and expand the spring bear hunt pilot for 5 years. We are pleased that it includes the opportunity for non-residents to participate and that the hunt will be offered in the wildlife management units that currently offer a fall black bear hunt.

NORTH BAY – Nature and Outdoor Tourism Ontario (NOTO) responded with keen interest to today’s announcement of the proposal by the Ontario Government to extend the spring bear hunt pilot for an additional five years and to include non-resident hunters in the pilot.
