Rough It In Velvet! Fishing, Wildlife and Relaxing Wilderness Vacations by Train or Float Plane in Northern Ontario Canada Relax and enjoy the best of Canada's Wilderness at our secluded wilderness vacation resort lodge. Our resort lodge is on a remote set of islands easily accessible via the famous Algoma Central Railway or float plane. Lake Wabatongushi, is a large lake with over 10,000 acres high quality fishing and wilderness adventures to enjoy. With some 70 uninhabited islands, many streams and rivers, thousands of acres of adjacent wetlands, and miles of nature trails. Since it is the second largest lake in the world's largest wildlife preserve, sightings of wildlife such as moose, black bear, loons, and bald eagles, to name a few, are numerous. The only hunting allowed since 1925, inside the 3000 square mile (over 8300 km2) Chapleau Game Preserve, is with a camera. There is also excellent fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch, and Whitefish. First class accommodations, fine dining, and courteous service on a 10 acre island.
