Ontario Minimum Wage Increases

In the 2007 Ontario budget amendments were made to Regulation 285/01 of the Employment Standards Act, 2000 which included a number of increases over a number of years. As a result of implementing these increases, the minimum wage rates will increase for the following categories.

General Minimum Wage $9.50 per hour $10.25 per hour
Students under 18 and working not more than 28 hours per week or during a school holiday $8.90 per hour $9.60 per hour
Liquor Servers $8.25 per hour $8.90 per hour
Hunting & Fishing Guides:
For less than five consecutive hours in a day
$47.50 per day $51.25 per day
Hunting & Fishing Guides: for five or more hours in a day whether or not the hours are consecutive $95.00 per day $102.50 per day
