Seasons Greetings!

This is the time of year that we celebrate achievements and look back on how our season went, while planning for the upcoming year.

Thank you to all our members who attended the Northern Ontario Tourism Summit in Thunder Bay this past November. It seems like every year this event just keeps getting better. It is an exceptional opportunity to network with other operators, government & industry. The various sessions were well attended and often could have gone on much longer than the time allotted.  I encourage you to contact the summit organizers or the NOTO office with your feedback on the event and sessions so that they can continue to improve and deliver an educational and entertaining Tourism Summit.

I was very honoured to MC the NOTO fun-raising evening and present many deserving individuals with their awards for going above and beyond promoting tourism in Northern Ontario.  If you know someone that is helping to raise the bar in the tourism industry or doing something ground-breaking…we want to hear your brags, wins, and innovation. Please contact the NOTO office to keep us informed of the Tourism Champions in our midst.

NOTO is a deeply passionate Tourism Family that advocates on behalf of our membership. The strength of the Nature & Outdoor Tourism Industry depends on our members, it is encouraging to see renewed interest in NOTO from past members as well as new members joining as a result of the advocacy work that NOTO does on behalf of our industry.

Get the jump on the upcoming season by renewing your membership early and take advantage of the Early Bird Special, and incentives that are offered.

NOTO members also have the benefit of the expertise in products and services that can best help them in their operation. We encourage members of NOTO to engage with our list of Preferred Suppliers who truly set the gold standard in the products and services they offer.

Our dedicated & hard-working staff in the NOTO office continue to keep up to date on issues & regulations affecting the industry, fielding calls from operators, both NOTO members and non-members with resource based tourism questions and challenges that NOTO is able to assist them in handling.

If you are wondering how you can strengthen your business and the Nature & Outdoor Tourism Industry, I encourage you to renew your membership early, ask other outfitters to join NOTO and to truly be a champion by joining the dedicated volunteer board of NOTO; to chart the way forward in the future of this organization as we look towards our 100th year as a the Voice of Nature & Outdoor Tourism Ontario!

It has been a great honour to serve as the President of this wonderful organization in 2017.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to my NOTO Family
