2019 Prescribed Burns

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry have released a general notice to the public about prescribed burns that are scheduled to occur in 2019. These burns will be conducted by the MNRF and follow the guidelines provided in the Prescribed Burn Manual.
An operational plan is prepared for each prescribed burn. Each plan includes the following information:

• Statement of the objectives to be achieved;
• Burn prescription that will meet the objectives;
• List of all areas of concern;
• Description of the methods used to give notice to the public;
• Description of ignition, suppression, safety and support measures; and
• An outline of the requirements for a post-burn analysis.

A list of each prescribed burn location and a description of the size and purpose of the burn can be accessed by clicking the link below. Members of the public are invited to share their comments by April 30th, 2019 to the area contact listed in the notice. https://ero.ontario.ca/notice/013-4881
